Foo Fighters finally got their chance to headline Glastonbury Saturday night after the incident where frontman Dave Grohl broke his leg in 2015, forcing the band to pull out.
The US rock stars took the Pyramid Stage to play an incredibly energetic set to one of Glastonbury’s biggest crowds. Opening the set, the band dedicated their song ‘Times Like These’ to Florence and the Machine who filled in as their replacement in 2015.
The bands’ set list did not disappoint with all of their most well-known hits in there including ‘The Pretender’ ‘All My Life’ ‘Monkey Wrench’ and ‘Learn To Fly’. Foo Fighters even played 1997 hit ‘My Hero’, dedicating it to a naked man that Dave Grohl saw in the crowd. He said “It’s starting to get good! I see a naked guy! This one’s for him.”
The setlist included some surprises, including Foo Fighters drummer, Taylor Hawkins swap places with Grohl to perform a cover of Queen and Bowie’s ‘Under Pressure’, with Grohl explaining they once performed this in a nightclub, and there were only “50 people there.”
Meanwhile, our Saturday headliners showed some sentiments towards a fan who sadly passed away after a battle with cancer last month. Laura Plane’s husband John contacted Grohl via twitter asking them to play the song ‘Everlong’ during their set in Memory of her. The couple were reportedly huge Foo Fighters fans and had their first dance to that very song at their wedding. Grohl replied on Twitter with a personal note, saying “Jon – Dave here. Heard about Laura. Sending you much love and hope and light. Will be thinking of yous at Glasto. Take care mate.”

The band fulfilled Jons wishes as they dedicated the hit to “Laura…who couldn’t be here tonight.”
