The Irish post-punk rockers have shared their new video today and it has already amassed over 10 thousand views. It will serve as the opening track on their second album ‘A Hero’s Death’ which is due to be released on July 31st.
The video was shot on location in Ireland and was directed remotely by bassist Connor Deegan III. It contains a lot of very nice shots of the Irish coast and evokes very retrospective thoughts to juxtapose the melancholy and downbeat styling of the song itself.

Fontaines D.C. formed in 2017 and, in their short time, have already proved themselves to be one of the names to look out for in the English punk/ indie scene. They released their debut album ‘Dogrel’ in 2019 and it was met with widespread critical acclaim from critics likening them to fellow bands Idles and Shame, which is very high praise. It even won album of the year from both BBC 6 Music and Rough Trade.
They announced their second album ‘A Hero’s Death’ earlier this year and they released the first single off it which was also the title track. The video featured some star power in Irish actor Aiden Gillen of Game of Thrones fame.

The release of this marks a very important step for the band as they venture into the uncertain and scary world of the sophomore album. Following up a highly praised debut is a hard task for artists of any calibre and we have seen plenty of them fall at this, the highest of hurdles.
Going off what we have so far heard, the second album is shaping up to live up to the first album and more. We hope they are able to continue with upward trajectory, they are a band with plenty of potential and talent in abundance.
