FKA Twigs has released her new comeback single, ‘Cellophane’. The release follows FKA Twigs announcement that she will release her new comeback single, ‘Cellophane’, today (April 24). The new single marks the singers first solo release in nearly three years.
The 31-year-old singer – whose real name is Tahliah Debrett Barnett – last released solo work in 2016, in the form of the stand-alone single, ‘Good to Love’, which came a year after her last EP, ‘M3LL155X’. Almost three years later she has revealed that she will be making her long-awaited and hotly anticipated comeback, with a brand new single, ‘Cellophane’, which was released today (April 24), at 7:30pm, in the UK.
Twig’s made the announcement, on Monday the 22nd of April 2019, with the singer taking to Twitter to post an image of herself, which is similar to her previous covers. Fans also said that they have received a physical version of the artwork in the post, along with a handwritten message from twigs herself.
throughout my life I’ve practiced my way to being the best I could be, it didn’t work this time. I had to tear down every process I’d ever relied on. go deeper. rebuild. start again.

Earlier yesterday evening, (April 23), twigs, again took to social media to confirm that ‘Cellophane’ will become available tomorrow at 7:30 pm (BST). An image of herself standing in front of a gold curtain was posted, with the singer writing: “throughout my life I’ve practiced my way to being the best I could be, it didn’t work this time. Twigs’ 2015 release, ‘M3LL155X’, came as the singers third EP, after her debut releases ‘EP1′, in 2012, and ‘EP2′, in 2013, which both followed her debut studio album, ‘LP1′, which was released in 2014 and was nominated for that year’s Mercury Music Prize.
Despite her scattered releases, the ‘Two Weeks’ hitmaker embarked on various collaborative projects throughout the years, including teaming up with A$AP Rocky, on the track ‘Fukk Sleep’, last year. She also appeared in a Spike Jonze-directed film, which featured the Anderson .Paak track ‘Til It’s Over’.
