Fit For An Autopsy announced in September that they will be releasing their sixth full-length studio album Oh, What The Future Holds on January 14th, via Nuclear Blast Records. On September 24th, the day the album was announced, the band also released the first single from the album, entitled “Far From Heaven”, and an accompanying music video.
Describing the single and the sound of the upcoming record, the band said; “Although there are more drastic dynamic turns on the new album, ‘Far From Heaven’ delivers from a more simplistic and primal place. Lyrically, this record digs a little further into internal turmoil as well, but this song is in a way a much more literal and grounded representation of our continued frustration with institutions and class gaps that exist in all facets of society. The powerful video, directed by Eric Richter, is a great thematic visual counterpart to the inherent dark nature of the song. Hope you enjoy it — we certainly do.”
Fit For An Autopsy went on to release the second single from the album “Pandora” on October 29th, also with an accompanying music video. Both singles are available on all streaming services, and the album can be pre-ordered here.
Formed in 2008, Fit For An Autopsy is comprised of vocalist Joe Badolato, guitarists Will Putney, Pat Sheridan and Tim Howley, drummer Josean Orta and bassist Peter Spinazola. The band has gone through numerous line-up changes throughout their career thus far, including a change in vocalist, with Badolato replacing founding member Greg Wilburn in early 2015. The band’s sound has varied since their inception; their first E.P. Hell On Earth inhabited the breakdown-centric, tremolo picked brutality of deathcore of the time, whereas later records such as The Great Collapse have seen the band embracing more melodic instrumental sensibilities whilst still maintaining their ferocious deathcore sound.
