Field Day Festival, a one-day electronic music festival, has been announced to take place on 29th August this year on bank holiday Sunday. The outdoor festival was held in Victoria Park every year since 2007 but was moved to Brockwell Park in 2018 and Meridian Water in Enfield in 2019. After being cancelled in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Field Day has announced on social media today that it will return to Victoria Park this summer.
The bank holiday celebration festival has announced an impressive set of line-up with Bicep as the headliner for this year. Other acts include various prominent artists from the electronic music scene such as live performances from Floating Points, Overmono and Ross From Friends with DJ sets from Floorplan, Mount Kimble, Maribou State and more. Field Day has also welcomed previous acts from 2019 such as DJ Seinfield and Jungle. The full line-up can be found on their website.
Field Day festival has partnered with All Points East, which has announced that it will take place from 27th to 30th August at the same venue. As a result, fans can expect a variety of genres being showcased at Victoria Park during that time period. General release tickets for Field Day was released today, they can be bought here.
Gareth Cooper, the co-owner of Field Day, expressed excitement regarding the festival, saying: “We couldn’t be more excited to be bringing Field Day back to its spiritual home of Victoria Park, where it all started 14 years ago. We are going to deliver the best day out of the summer, in one of London’s best parks, with an amazing crowd, a top top music lineup led from the front by the brilliant Bicep. It’s gonna be ace. We cannot wait to partner up with APE on presenting this show and provide some hope and excitement to finish off what’s been an awful 12 months. The future starts today!”
Field Day and All Points East are not the only festivals in the summer going ahead – Reading and Leeds Festival and Splendour Festival have also confirmed dates and line-ups, getting music enthusiasts excited for a summer without Covid-19 restrictions after June 21st, provided that the government’s roadmap out of lockdown goes according to plan.
