Following a number of spoof releases from Josh Tillman, including his own lyrics to the Netflix show ‘House of Cards':
Let's make love to my bodyguard

However we finally have a serious release from the former Fleet Foxes drummer. Today he has released what is his first serious release since the hit album ‘I Love You Honey Bear’ in February 2015. The new song released by Father John Misty is titled ‘Real Love Baby’ and can be listened to below:
‘Real Love Baby’ seems to continue in Father John Misty’s own brand of indie-pop. Offering dreamy faded vocals with (for a change!) seemingly normal lyrics, Tillman has achieved fame both through his music but also through his fantastical lyrics.
Father John Misty enjoys a remarkable reputation throughout music, often being lauded for his ability to create the weird and wacky, yet ultimately brilliant blend of indie folk and indie pop. Tillman’s last album ‘I Love You, Honeybear’ was released in 2015 to widespread critical acclaim; being regarded as many as one of the defining albums of 2015.
Yet it wasn’t just through ‘I Love You, Honeybear’ that Tillman managed to achieve success; his debut album ‘Fear Fun’ released in 2012 under the (then newly established) moniker ‘Father John Misty’ was again met with widespread commercial and critical acclaim. ‘Fear Fun’ was Tillman’s first move away from the serious acoustic indie folk that we’d known him for and into the madness and wit that is the world of Father John Misty.
