Indie-folk icon Father John Misty aka Josh Tillman announced his return to the UK & Ireland this week, in support of his upcoming album God’s Favourite Customer. This is a follow up to his 2017 masterpiece Pure Comedy, and will be released on the 1st of June.
Tillman has released three singles from the album so far: ‘Mr. Tillman’, ‘Disappointing Diamonds Are The Rarest of Them All’ and ‘Just Dumb Enough to Try’. He also released a music video for ‘Mr. Tillman’ last week.
Pure Comedy was released last year to huge critical acclaim, with 5 star reviews from NME, The Guardian, and Mojo, as well as receiving a Grammy nomination for Best Alternative Music Album. It was also my personal pick for the best album of the year.
Tillman last played in the UK last year, and played Glastonbury Festival, and headlined End Of The Road – his first festival headlining show.
There will be two separate sections to Tillman’s tour of the UK and Ireland, with him originally arriving in May, but then coming back in October. Tickets go on sale at 10am on the 11th of May, and are available here.
