Over the past 12 years Farmfest has evolved into one of the UK’s most loved small festivals. Describing the origins of the festival the organisers say:“Farmfest emerged twelve years ago from a close group of friends that wanted to celebrate two of the very best things life has to offer – music and friendship. So we set about organising a party in a field. With a brash blend of live music, DJs, and a cracking atmosphere at heart, the first Farmfest was peppered with all manner of regional musical delights.
Every year since its foundation Farmfest has evolved and adapted itself to different themes, with only one continuity, the requirement to wear a hat. Previous years headliners include Public Service Broadcasting, Skinny Lister, Friendly Fires and Beans on Toast. Currently the festival has 7 different arenas, from comedy arenas to late night clubs where the DJs play until the early mornings, and of course the main-stage. The festival has a capacity of 5500 people, and has sold out for the last three years.
This years festival will take place against the beautiful backdrop of Gilcombe Farm in Bruton, Somerset from Thursday the 25th to Friday the 27th of July. Tickets are currently on sale for £89.00 for an adult weekend ticket. As part of the festival’s commitment to protecting the local environment it is also offering a £3 litter bond, which will be returned when a bag of recycling is presented at the end of the festival.
