English musician and producer Example dropped out of his performance at last night’s Manchester Pride event.
The artist cited his withdrawal due to issues concerning his voice which occurred during his set at Creamfields. The “Changed The Way You Kiss Me” singer had lost his voice during his performance at the music festival and cancelled his Manchester appearance mere hours before he was meant to perform. Example was meant to perform at the Manchester Pride event on 28th August 2021, other headliners included Yungblud and Sigala.
A representative from Manchester Pride responded to the artist’s withdrawal, stating that the show would go on whilst following a contingency plan, the spokesperson also wished Example the best. The event’s plan involved extending the set of legendary DJ Annie Mac to please eventgoers. The event’s spokesperson’s full statement stated “Sadly we have been told that Example is unable to perform tonight because he has lost his voice. Annie Mac has kindly agreed to perform a longer set to keep the party going. We wish Example the very best and hope he has a speedy recovery.”

Example took to his Twitter page to explain his exit from the event. Within his apology, he stated: “Hi guys, erm, Elliot here. Or as my mum calls me, Example. I’m just really sorry to say, I’ve had to-, I was in Manchester this morning after Creamfields last night, but my voice is just absolutely f***ed from giving it my all last night at Creamfields. Please forgive me. It was probably one of the most exciting, biggest shows to come back to after so long away, and I gave it 110 per cent, and as a result my voice is f***ed – as you can hear. I can’t even sing. So I won’t be performing at Manchester Pride this evening, but have a lovely time. I had my t-shirt ready and everything! Enjoy yourself.” The artist took to his Instagram to celebrate his performance at Creamfields, pairing the photo collection with the caption “More from Creamfields last night aka The Show Of A Lifetime“.
