Metal band Evile have released a new album called ‘Hell Unleashed’ via Napalm Records, for the first time since 2013. The 9-track album includes previously released singles such as ‘The Thing (1982)’, ‘Gore’ and ‘Hell Unleashed’.
The album features an exciting fresh line-up consisting of Ben Carter the lead guitarist, Ol Drake the vocalist, Joel Graham the bassist and Adam Smith the rhythm guitarist. It was produced by Chris Clancy from Backstage Studios and features a surprising vocal cameo from Brian Posehn, a heavy metal comedian.
The sounds and the themes of the album have been perfectly summarised on their website in the description section of ‘Hell Unleashed': “With double the amount of power, twice the speed, untamed brute and blazing riffs, the title track “Hell Unleashed” propels old and new fans to the status of eternal mayhem and huge thrash euphoria. In 41 minutes, Hell Unleashed unchains the unbridled forces of hell, catches some rousing demons of the past and provides classical thrash metal with a contemporary yet hard-edged touch.”
In a press release, vocalist Ol Drake expressed excitement regarding the album, saying: “After a long eight years, Evile is finally coming back… I have no qualms in saying that this is the best thrash metal album in at least the last 20 years. Those who haven’t been keeping up with Evile may notice a change in vocals and vocalist. Evile needs to sound evil and vile, and we’ve achieved that more this time with a much more aggressive approach on Hell Unleashed.”
Evile was first formed in 2004 and describes their music as “classical thrash metal”. They have cited bands such as Overkill, Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Exodus and Obituary as musical influences. The group have released five studio albums in total – ‘Enter the Grave’ in 2007, ‘Infected Nations’ in 2009, ‘Five Serpent’s Teeth’ in 2011, ‘Skull’ in 2013 and now ‘Hell Unleashed’ which was unveiled yesterday.
Evile’s new album ‘Hell Unleashed’ is out now on all platforms.
