Manchester based alt-rock band Everything Everything have released the music video for their haunting track ‘Black Hyena’. The tune comes from their latest album ‘RE-ANIMATOR’, which was released on the 11th September 2020.
The music video matches the sinister tone of the track perfectly, depicting the 4-piece driving round an estate, while being stalked by a looming, skateboarding zombie. As the video progresses, we see shots of the figure in various venues, before joining the four at the video’s end.
The video was directed by the band’s vocalist Johnathan Higgs alongside Kit Monteith. When describing the music video the band stated in an Instagram post, “Something has risen and lives again. Witness the re-animation of a troubled soul.”
‘Black Hyena’, as well as the other tracks from ‘RE-ANIMATOR’, have received rave reviews, with the Independent giving the album five stars, and acclaimed critic Roisin Murphy stating, “Re-Animator packs global anxiety and paranoia into exquisitely crafted songs.” The band plan to take the new album to the stage, with a national tour planned for 2021.
