Just like every other festival, the End Of The Road Festival in Dorset had to be cancelled due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Festival organisers announced the cancellation back in May but have since come up with an idea to still make the festival happen. Originally, the festival was set for next weekend, September 5-8. Now, there will be an online event instead: Next Sunday, September 6, a couple of artists will play live at the festival venue at Larmer Tree Gardens, with the event kicking off at 6:30.
The event is called “In The Garden Of Streaming” and and will feature some musicians from the original line-up, such as Squid, Katy J Pearson, Billy Nomates, The Golden Dregs, Modern Woman and more. There’s also going to be an “array of electrifying surprises to disrupt your living room (and your neighbours).”
“You knew it, we knew it… Not even wild horses could keep us from bringing you a slice of live End of the Road magic. Since you can’t come to us this year, we’ll come to you”, the new website, specifically created for the online event, reads. “We owe a huge debt of thanks to you, our audience, for sticking with us this year”, festival organisers said. “We can’t thank you enough but we’re not through the woods yet.”
We’re playing the field of streams for our fav festival ever. Tune in on Sunday! Loads of great stuff on https://t.co/Z7502LFyoB

“We’ve pulled out all the stops to bring you an evening of live performance, and we want as many of you to join us as possible so this event is available free of charge. If you feel you can, we’d really appreciate your contributions toward covering our costs. 20% of all proceeds will go to our long term local charity partner CODA MUSIC TRUST.”
“We’ll miss partying with you all this year, so let’s turn the volume up to eleven and make it count. See you in cyberspace.” To join the virtual party, head over to the website on September 6 here.
