Elton John and Charlie Puth Release Collaboration Single “After All”

Elton John and Charlie Puth have released their collaboration single “After All”. The single has been described as a glowing gentle ballad about true love and comes from Elton’s collaboration album The Lockdown Sessions. The album is set for release on October 22nd and contains 16 collaborative singles with Puth and other artists.

 

Sir Elton Hercules John CH CBE is an English singer, songwriter, pianist and composer with a career spanning over 54 years with record sales of over 300 million and 7 UK Number 1 singles. Charlie Puth is an American singer, songwriter and record producer whose music career began from his viral success of Youtube videos displaying his musical ability.

Puth released his debut single “Marvin Gaye” (Featuring Megan Trainor) in 2015 with the single setting up the road for his musical success. Puth has released two studio albums to date, his debut album Nine Track Mind (2016) and Voicenotes (2018).

John previously shared Puth’s music on his Apple Music Rocket Hour Show and their collaboration followed a meet up in a Los Angeles restaurant in March 2020.

Upon discovering that they lived close to one another the duo decided to write and record the single at Charlie’s house. It was the first single that both artists had recorded during The Covid 19 Lockdown. John describing the writing process said, “I don’t know where it came from because I always write to lyric. So this song is one of the first songs in my whole life, where I’ve just written a melody first” John further added that he now considers Puth a family friend following their collaboration.

Puth in speaking of his admiration of John stated “He is world-class and the true definition of a musical genius.”Being a part of his musical journey is a dream come true.” American rapper, musician and songwriter Jacob Kasher Hindlin who co-wrote Puth’s single “Attention”, also co-wrote “After All” with John and Puth.

 

John has recently released the single “Cold Heart” from his album The Lockdown Sessions with Dua Lipa and said that the album was the last thing that he expected to record during the Covid 19 Lockdown.

John recently postponed his UK and European Farwell Yellow Brick Road Tour dates until 2023 due to a fall and is said to be recovering well. Despite his injury, John will still be performing at Global Citizen Live on September 25th with Puth also set to perform at the event.

John jokingly said of his and Puth’s collaborative single “If anyone doesn’t like this record, blame it on Charlie and here’s his address”
