The X Factor alumni Ella Henderson has returned to the music scene with a new electropop single titled “Take Care of You“. The track is Henderson’s follow-up to the comeback EP ‘Glorious‘ back in 2019.
After a lengthy drama with the previous record label Syco, the singer has finally settled down under the new home at Rudimental’s Major Toms/Asylum Records. With this promising second chance, she is ready and stronger than ever to break the scene once again.
“Take Care of You” is the latest song that introduces a proper return for the songstress. Henderson has collaborated with a long list of A-listed producers and songwriters to craft this new single.
Julia Michaels and Justin Tranter, who wrote pop smash hits for Selena Gomez, Britney Spears, and P!nk, appear as the co-writers of the track, along with Daniel Blume, Joris Mur, and Noel Zancanella as the producers. Zancanella is the producer of Taylor Swift’s blockbuster record ‘1989‘ and also Henderson’s number 1 “Ghost“, another reason to be excited for!
This result from an impressive line-up of producers is an electropop bop that continues to showcase Henderson’s venture into a pop-dance side after lending her voice to Jax Jones’ “This Is Real” and Sigala’s “We Got Love“. “I know you’re hurting. I know it’s rough. I know you seen so many things that mess you up,” the tune starts with a melodic introduction that recalls Clean Bandit’s “Rather Be“.
“I’ll take care, take care of you, and all of the things that no one else will do, like take care of you,” the 24-year-old sings with such a soaring vocal that would surely make us want to throw our hands up in the air and dance.
The track is served with a music video that seems to be shot under a social-distancing concern. The clip features the Lincolnshire singer riding a bike and enjoying a beautiful natural scene that reminds us of how great it is to spend time outside! Check out the heartwarming pop anthem below.
According to Official Charts, Henderson details the making of this song: “When I wrote “Take Care of You” I couldn’t put into words how I was feeling, but alongside two of my favourite writers in the world, Julia and Justin, they helped me turn my thoughts into song. This song is for everyone I love, as well as a message of self-care – a personal reminder to look after myself, both mentally and physically.”
It has been over five years since Henderson stole all the spotlights to herself with a powerful ballad “Ghost” from debut LP ‘Chapter One‘ in 2014. After that, the singer disappeared from music due to a disagreement with Syco, and came back in 2o19 with a four-track EP ‘Glorious‘ with the title track as a single.
She has not announced if “Take Care of You” is the first single from the singer’s long-awaited second studio album, but we hope to get a ‘Chapter Two‘ very soon. Stay tuned!
