UK singer-songwriter Ella Henderson has shared her latest single today, a belting pop track featuring DJ Roger Sanchez. The song was first teased two weeks ago with an acoustic piano version posted to Henderson’s Twitter, followed by the announcement that new music would arrive soon.
The artist shared her inspiration behind the song, saying, “I wrote this song about missing people who I love and dreaming about being with them.” This idea is portrayed throughout the lyrics with the catchy chorus, “When you need a little love/And your head needs somewhere to sleep on/You can dream on, dream on me.”

The official lyric video has gained 6,000 views and shows angelic shots of Henderson alone – a great way to maintain social distancing in the current climate. To celebrate the release, the singer created a private Facebook group called ‘Ella Stars’ which her fans can join for updates. She even held an exclusive livestream within the group yesterday evening.
‘Dream On Me’ follows earlier single ‘Take Care Of You’ which came out in June as her first new piece of music of 2020. Appearing as a dance-pop track, fans were moved and excited by the song.
Ella Henderson made her debut on the ninth series of The X Factor in 2012 and, despite not winning the competition, she bonded with her audience and signed to Simon Cowell’s record label Syco Records shortly after. Her first album ‘Chapter One’ came out in 2014, followed by a number of successful singles including chart-topper ‘Ghost’. She has since collaborated with Sigma, Kygo, Jay Jones, and Sigala.
Roger Sanchez is a house music DJ and producer who has been working in the music business for years, winning a Grammy Award for his remix of No Doubt’s ‘Hella Good’ in 2003.
