On Thursday (6 May), Ed Sheeran announced that he is the new sponsor of Ipswich Town Football Club. Showing support for the team over many years, he posted a picture of himself as a child in one of their jerseys accompanying the news on his instagram.
Perhaps the more interesting post, however, is the one that Ipswich Town FC posted on their social media accounts. Along with a caption that acknowledges Sheeran as their new sponsor, there is a picture of the home shirt that feature some potential hints about future musical projects. It includes the symbols from three of his albums, ‘+’, ‘X’ and ‘÷’. It also includes two other symbols, (- and =) and the word “tour” underneath them all.

When asked what the symbols and words meant, he responded, “All will be revealed in time.” The Suffolk singer has previously hinted at releasing his next album this year in another instagram post. His dreams are coming true working with a football club dear to him, and Ed Sheeran fans everywhere will have a second reason to be just excited about this announcement as he is.
