Ed Sheeran has been confirmed as the richest celebrity under the age of 30, doubling his fortune to £170 million. Back in May, Adele turned 31, meaning that Sheeran, (aged 27), succeeds the ‘Hello’ hitmaker to the top spot. It is believed the fortune he has amassed shifted from £94 to £170 million.
The rich list was created by Heat Magazine, pitching Sheeran at the top, followed by Daniel Radcliffe, (£90m), Harry Styles in third, (£64m), Emma Watson with £57m and Niall Horan on £54.8m. All five members of One Direction make the top ten, of which has been listed at the end of the article.
The vast wealth accumulated by Sheeran, responsible for hits including ‘Shape Of You’, ‘The A Team’ and ‘Galway Girl’, has been primarily down to his worldwide ‘Divide’ tour. Other factors include songwriting credits and publishing rights. The figures for his worldwide tour are as follows, it lasted a total of 30 months, (beginning in March 2017), reached across six continents, grossed $776.2 million, (£599.4 million).
His final show took place in his hometown of Ipswich, concluding the 255 show world tour.
Further down the list include Stormzy in 14th, Dua Lipa in 15th and Jess Glynne at 27th, all three of which recognised as new entries to the poll.
Letters from the late Prince, discovered at his Paisley Park residence revealed that the icon was not a fan of Ed Sheeran and Katy Perry. In the notes, the ‘Purple Rain’ artist wrote accusing the music industry of “trying to ram” the music of the aforementioned artists “down our throats”.

Ed’s fourth album, ‘No.6 Collaborations Project’ was released in July this year featuring artists including Eminem, 50 Cent, Stormzy, Camilla Cabello, Cardi B, Khalid and Bruno Mars.
