Dua Lipa is set to release a new single with Miley Cyrus. Their new single, Prisoners, is geared for release at midnight tonight (Friday November 20th). Prisoners is taken from Plastic Hearts, the incoming album by Miley Cyrus, which is out on November 27th.
This comes at great joy for fans, who have rooted for a collaboration between the two vocal powerhouses for a long while. Both stars announced the wonderful news via posts on their respective social media accounts.
In a post to Instagram, Lipa shared a film-like photograph of herself and Cyrus, confirming in the caption that Prisoners will be “out at midnight”. Fans reacted joyously to the post, which has obtained a whopping 806,000 likes.
Cyrus followed suit, posting a succession of themed photographs, and one intriguing promotional clip featuring an explosion of maraschino cherries and graffiti. The post was celebrated by fans, receiving over 544,000 likes.
This hinting via social media is not an isolated incident from the stars, who have both been teasing a collaboration for months. In October, Cyrus said their upcoming single is “perfectly a blend of the both of us”, which only heightened fans’ wild excitement.
In May of this year, Lipa revealed that the pair had already planned to create a song together before the coronavirus pandemic. Sadly, the international lockdown restrictions prevented them from doing so. Fortunately, Prisoners is out in a few short hours!
Superstar Lipa has been keeping her schedule jam-packed recently. It was announced yesterday (November 18th) that Lipa was selected as an ambassador for Puma, and will be the face of their upcoming She Moves Us campaign. The She Moves Us campaign will see Lipa joining forces with Puma for initiatives focused on female empowerment.
Lipa declared her collaboration with the fashion giants via a post to Instagram. Clearly excited, the New Rules singer wrote in the caption: “I can’t wait for you to see what I have in store for you!” The post, which gathered a jaw-dropping 2.6m likes, was welcomed warmly by Lipa’s worldwide fanbase.
In other wonderful news, Lipa is set to perform a one-off livestream concert this month. An ode to the golden age of disco, the live stream is lovingly titled ‘Studio 2054’. Lipa will deliver ‘Studio 2054’ from a huge warehouse.
