Dua Lipa has revealed a sneak preview of a new track called ‘Don’t Start Now’ on Twitter, captioned with the question Miss Me? The sound of the single supports Lipa’s earlier conversations about the new music being “disco heavy”, saying, “I feel like you could dance through the whole record”. She further explained that the new album is “just a party”. The preview to ‘Don’t Start Now’ contains a distinct dance rhythm.
Back in April the ‘No Lie’ singer discussed with NME about studio time she’d spent with Nile Rodgers, remarking that she was on “the brink of tears”. She elaborated on the musical style of the next album, suggesting that the second LP “needed a lot more live instrumentation”.
More recently, she described the follow up record as “more conceptual” and “more mature”.

In an interview with Vogue, Dua Lipa discussed how she regulates her usage of social media to look after her mental health. “My family and my friends keep me grounded. I’ve also learnt to do social media in bite sizes. Social media has always been around for my generation, so for me it’s really fun to post pictures, tweet and update. But I’ve also received a lot of backlash for talking about political things close to my heart. I’m not one to say sorry, I like to stand by things I believe in, so sometimes I delete the app so I don’t start second guessing myself. Trolls can very easily give you anxiety.”
She adds. “The thing that keeps me on social media – and this is more Twitter than Instagram – is my connection with my fans. They’re the reason why I download the app again, so I can talk to them.”
Her self titled debut in 2017 was given four out of five stars in NME. “But it’s equally impressive to hear how confidently the debut holds itself together, flitting between styles but always shining a spotlight on a legitimate pop sensation. She’s the real deal.”
