Yesterday, on 1st December, Neflix’ ‘Song Exploder’ shared a new trailer for Volume 2 of the song-writing show, which features UK artist Dua Lipa. The first season aired recently, in October, with an assortment of artists appearing to share their process for creating music. This new series will follow the same pattern, premiering on 15th December.
‘Song Exploder’ is the TV adaptation of the music podcast by Hrishikesh Hirway, in which artists tell the stories behind their songs. In the new trailer, popular singer-songwriter Dua Lipa discussed her song ‘Love Again’ from latest album ‘Future Nostalgia‘, which has been nominated for three Grammys including Album Of The Year. Explaining the song, Lipa said, “Creating this song, I learnt so much about myself. It was a moment in my life that I thought I could never break out of.”
Volume 1 of the incredible music programme consists of four episodes – one for each artist – and features the likes of Alicia Keys, Ty Dolla $ign, R.E.M, and Broadway star Lin-Manuel Miranda who wrote musicals ‘In The Heights’ and ‘Hamilton’, as well as some of the music from Disney’s ‘Moana’.
To follow in Volume 2 will not only be Dua Lipa, but also The Killers with their song ‘When You Were Young’, Nina Inch Nails, and Natalia Lafourcade. Podcast and TV show creator Hrishikesh Hirway spoke about the Netlfix adaptation, saying, “I’m so excited that it’s come to life, and I get to share four more episodes of the series with these beloved artists.”
