Dua Lipa has announced some fantastic news on her Instagram, her new album ‘Future Nostalgia- The Moonlight Edition’ released on 11th February 2021 has hit number one on Spotify and doubling the achievement, making her the most listened to female artist on the popular music streaming service.
The reissue of her second studio album ‘Future Nostalgia’, which was released on 27th March last year, has set the English singer in high standing with music fans and critics. The reissue came with ‘We’re Good’ the new break up anthem that everyone has to hear, released 11th February 2021 as the album’s lead single. As well as three other unheard tracks, ‘Is it Ain’t Me’, ‘That kind of Woman’ and the empowering duet ‘Not My Problem (Feat. JID)’.
The album has given Lipa recognition and success which any songstress would kill for but her new album has also smashed some musical records for the singer. The album has set the record for most streamed album by a female artist in one day, which Lipa celebrated with her fans on Instagram. And to cap it all off she has had three singles in the top 10, making her the first woman to do so in a long while, the record’s predecessor was Vera Lyn in 1952. Her meteoric rise is clearly not slowing down anytime soon, now with two lucrative Vogue covers to add to her CV, the superstar is setting her sights high and nothing is going to slow her down as she describes ‘ “With my work, I’m always like, ‘OK, what’s next?’’. With this ambition and talent mixed together in a perfect glittery storm, throw in a collection of dance-floor anthems, and there truly is nothing Dua Lipa cant do.
Dua Lipa is no stranger to chart success, in 2018, ‘One Kiss‘ with Calvin Harris hit number one peaking for the pair. The single became the longest running number one single for a female artist and in 2019 won her a Brit. Other news from the Dua Lipa camp comes with the exciting release of her new album on 2LP vinyl, the ‘Moonlight Edition‘ vinyl is available to pre order and is released on 26TH March 2021. Proving yet again that Lipa is set to bring the gleam of a disco ball into our otherwise strange year.
