Bedford alternative rock stars Don Broco were forced to rescheduled their hometown concert at the favourite local club Esquires. Originally, the band was supposed to perform there on Monday 23 November but with the ongoing risks and restrictions on live events, had to postpone it for 25 May 2021. As with many other gigs and festivals that were rescheduled in recent months, all tickets already purchased will remain valid for the show next year. As it is, there are no remaining entries left, but you can join the waiting list here and get notified if spaces open.
The concert is organised in exclusive partnership with the #SaveOurVenues campaign with all ticket sales going to support the venue. The campaign is ran by the Music Venue Trust charity which “protects, secures and improves the UK’s grassroots music venues” and “has launched #saveourvenues to draw together fundraising activity aimed at preventing the permanent closure of these vital venues due to COVID-19“.
If everything goes according to plan and the situation in the UK slowly returns to normal, the Bedford gig will be Don Broco’s first live performance of 2021. Following that, the quartet is set to headline the Slam Dunk 2021 Festival at Hatfield and Leeds on the 29th and 30th May alongside Sum 41, Billy Talent, NOFX and While She Sleeps, with main support from Bury Tomorrow, State Champs, The Used and The Story So Far. The only other confirmed performance so far is at Chicago’s Riot Fest 2021 between 17th and 19th September 2021 where Don Broco will share the stage with My Chemical Romance, The Smashink Pumpkins, Run The Jewels, Pixies and many more.
Last week marked exactly three years since one of Don Broco’s biggest and most memorable concerts at the completely sold-out Alexandra Palace in London. Reminiscing about the good old times when gigs were going ahead as planned during the busy concert season, the band shared how much they missed it all and hinted at new album in preparation: “Jeez we’re missing gigs though been workin hard on the new album which we’ll be recording next week!”

Don Broco’s last album Technology was released in February 2018 through the independned rock and metal label SharpTone Records. Produced by Jason Perry and Dan Lancaster, the album peaked at #5 at the UK Albums Chart and topped the UK Rock & Metal Albums, and featured the hugely successful singles ‘Everybody‘ and ‘Come Out To LA‘. So far this year has been fairly quiet for the band, apart from winning the award for Best Music Video for ‘Action‘ at the 2020 Heavy Music Awards.
The explosive single ‘Action‘ came out in September last year as the first and so far the only new music since Technology. The track was released accompanied by the acclaimed music video and an alternative version featuring vocals from Taka Moriuchi (One Ok Rock), Taylor Carter (ex-Issues), Caleb Shomo (Beartooth, ex- Attack!Attack!) and Tillian Pearson (Dance Gavin Dance). At this point there is no information if ‘Action‘ will be included in their new album or remain as a standalone single, but with the band teasing upcoming recording sessions there should be updates coming soon.
