In a welcome surprise to fans, UK electronic duo Disclosure last night dropped a new track, ‘Moonlight’. You can stream the new track here on Apple Music and Spotify, and download it on Google Play Music and iTunes.
Speaking about the single, Disclosure’s Howard said “Moonlight was written and arranged at Guy’s house, sampling Swedish acapella group ‘The Real Group’s’ cover of the classic ‘When I Fall In Love’. We wanted to bring some Disclosure deep house chords and basslines to the forefront.”
A laidback exercise in electronica, ‘Moonlight’ shows the duo at their classic head-bumping best. Backed by a selection of looped beats, hi-hat hisses and fingersnaps, airy synths and rich sampled harmony combine into a delicate, computerised wash fit for the end of summer. See the track below:
The new single is Disclosure’s first release since May’s ‘Ultimatum’, which broke the silence following 2016’s Moog For Love EP. “Sorry it’s been a while — we have been missing you all immensely, so we wanted to share with you something we’ve been working on now the sun is shining and the trees are green,” Guy and Howard said in a press release. The track featured a sample from the “amazing female vocalist” Fatoumata Diawara.
Early this year, the sibling duo were forced to cancel their WILD LIFE Festival at Shorham Airport, which is run with Rudimental. “With a busy recording schedule ahead as [they] embark on album number 3″, the brothers promised to “come back bigger and better in 2019″.
