Device have cancelled their support slot on an upcoming European tour with Avenged Sevenfold and Five Finger Death Punch, with frontman David Draiman citing a desire to stay home with his wife and newborn son.
The singer issued the following official statement:
“After careful consideration, I’ve decided to stay at home where I am needed most right now, with my family and newborn son, and not support Avenged Sevenfold with Device on their current November-December run. I want to thank my brothers in Avenged Sevenfold for the opportunity, for their friendship, and their understanding, and I look forward to seeing all of you again sometime in the future.”
Draiman, well known for fronting Disturbed has been playing with industrial side-project Device since Disturbed went on hiatus in 2011. Device’s debut, self-titled album was released earlier this year. Draiman married Lena Yada, a former model and WWE wrestler, in 2011, and the couple welcomed their first child, Samuel Bear Isamu, on September 12th.
The tour will begin in Finland on November 6th, and conclude in the UK in early December. It has not yet been confirmed who will replace Device.
In addition to his work with Device and Disturbed, Draiman has also spent this year producing Trivium’s sixth album, ‘Vengeance Falls’, which is out now.
