Channel 4’s Dead Famous DNA programme has uncovered a music-related gem in the form of The Beatles frontman John Lennon’s tooth. Canadian dentist Dr Michael Zuk spoke to the show of his plans to resurrect the legendary singer and raise the cloned version as his own son.
In a series that has already uncovered what may well have been Hitler’s hair and Napoleon’s penis (although this apparently was not the biggest find), the final episode of the first series featured Dr Zuk talking of how he planned to clone John Lennon from a single tooth and go on to raise him as his own son.
Dr Zuk admitted that the technology may not yet be in place for such an occurrence to happen yet he seemed determined to fight tooth and nail to keep this item in his possession. He spoke of how this ‘second coming’ of Lennon would be brought up in a significantly different manner to its predecessor, specifically outlining his plan to “keep him away from drugs and cigarettes”, although he wasn’t against the idea of a few guitar lessons.
The tooth may well have set back Dr Zuk approximately £20,000 at an auction two years ago but the Canadian dentist sees this opportunity as a potential goldmine and even joked about the potential to create multiple clones – providing the technology becomes available within his lifetime.
So will we get to see John Lennon once again walk this earth? One can only imagine…
