Deep Purple is one of the bands that influenced generations of Rock musicians all around the world. Now, 52 years after their first official recording, the band is ready working on their 21st studio album.
What is even more exciting for the fans is that Deep Purple will once again collaborate with renowned producer, Bob Ezrin (known for his work with Alice Cooper, Aerosmith, Kiss, Pink Floyd and many others).
In the past two months, the band frequently posts updates regarding the new album on their official Instagram profile.
The list of songs in the LP has also been posted.
The first single of the album called ‘Throw My Bones’ was released on March 20 in the official EarMusic YouTube page.
Deep Purple’s current lineup consists of Ian Pace, Roger Glover, Ian Gillan, Steve Morse and Don Airey.
Steve Morse adds: “We’ve included everything that made the whole band smile, including Bob Erzin. We’ve always enjoyed making music and having the incredible luxury of a loyal audience.”
Deep Purple will head back to the UK to tour arenas in 2020 with Special Guests Blue Öyster Cult. The tour starts at the Manchester Arena on 2 October 2020, and hits London’s The O2 on 3 Oct, Glasgow’s The SSE Hydro on 5 Oct, Leeds’ First Direct Arena on 6 Oct and ending at Arena Birmingham on 8 Oct.
A short quote from Ian Gillan has also been posted, clarifying the idea behind the name of the album.
According to the information in the official website of the band, the album will be available as Limited DC+DVD Mediabook, which will include an hour-long discussion between Roger Glover and Bob Ezrin and, for the first time, the full live performance at Hellfest 2017 as video. Other purchase options will be in a 2LP+DVD Edition, Limited Box Set and as a Digital copy.
The band’s motto for ‘Whoosh!‘ is “Deep Purple is putting the ‘Deep’ back in Purple“.
