The enigmatic Dean Blunt, one half of post-modern art-pop experimental duo Hype Williams has put up a rather odd listing on Craigslist: ten limited edition 1:18 scale Foxton’s Mini Cooper model cars, each filled with “1g UK Cheese”.
Quite the shrewd business man, Blunt is selling the toy cars replete with a gram of marijuana for £250 each; although each car is signed and also comes with a certificate of authenticity.
The toy cars were originally available on eBay – but seeing as though selling weed is illegal in the UK – the listing has since been taken down. although it was shortly relisted, this time on Craigslist.
the listing on Craigslist states:
“2016
1:18 scale vandalised foxton’s mini cooper, 1g UK Cheese
7 x 3.3 ins
Limited Ed of 10
Signed under bonnet
Includes cert of authenticity
Made in London, UK”
The classified does advertise more than just a mini stuffed with weed however, with the listing also came a leaflet to check out the Cubbit exhibition he’s a part of. Whether Blunt will get in trouble with the law remains to be seen, but with his trademark blasé attitude toward establishment, it doesn’t seem like Dean would really care.
If you’re unfamiliar with Blunt’s music – or want to relive the time he used Idris Elba’s opinion about his music as the epigraph to his music video – then you can check out the video for ‘100’ from his 2014 album Black Metal below:
