Charli XCX has revealed that she is working on new music with Swedish singer Tove Lo. Charli discussed how the pair have been working in the studio together in Palm Springs and spoke about what they have created. Charli wrote on Instagram: “@tovelo and i have been out in Palm Springs writing songs together for a week (tested and safe) and we been making the best music ever!!!!! excited for u guys to hear things, but in the meantime, checkout my updated motherf****** future playlist at the link in my bio and make sure u play it start to finish SUPER LOUD!!!!”.

Tove Lo also shared the message on her page adding: “Yes. Love writing with you.” The artists are both known for their avant-garde approaches to pop music, often incorporating elements of punk and dance music in their own songs. The two have previously collaborated on several tracks including ‘Out Of My Head’ (also featuring ALMA) from Charli’s 2017 mixtape Pop 2. The artists also teamed up alongside ALMA, Icona Pop, and Eliiphant for the remix of Tove Lo’s 2018 single ‘bitches’.
Charli has recently teased that she is working on new music. The singer shared her collaboration with No Rome and The 1975 for ‘Spinning’. She also recently previewed her documentary Alone Together at SXSW 2021. The documentary follows the creation of Charli’s 2020 album “How I’m Feeling Now” under quarantine conditions. In comparison, Tove Lo has been reasonably quiet since the release of her 2019 album Sunshine Kitty. The 33-year-old married her partner Charlie Twaddle in the summer of 2020 at a quarantine wedding in Las Vegas.
Hopefully, Charli and Tove Lo will share what they have been working on soon in what could prove to be a record of the summer.
