NME reports that Cee-Lo Green has today debuted a new single, a loving ode to Beyonce, titled ‘Jay-Z’s Girl.’ The track is credited to Little Fun, who features in the clip, which premiered on WorldStarHipHop, showcasing Green’s new alter ego Gnarly Davidson, which was also spotted and mocked at the Grammys.
The single is set to the melody of Rick Springfield’s 80’s classic ‘Jesse’s Girl’, and is the second single to be dropped by the Gnarly Davidson, following ‘Fuck me I’m Famous’ which was released a month ago.
The Gnarly Davidson character made it’s public debut on the red carpet at the Grammys on Sunday, with Green appearing in a bizarre outfit, clad all in gold. The outfit was widely mocked by viewers of the ceremony, and even incurred the wrath of host James Corden. “We’ve been thinking what do we even call this?” Corden said of Green’s costume. “Do we call it ‘C3-P-LO,’ or we thought ‘C-LO-3O’? Or maybe we should just call it what it is: a cry for help.”
