During a concert in Exeter, Welsh rockers Catfish and the Bottlemen debuted a new single, titled ‘7’. This song has gone on to make the set list for a number of other concerts; all part of their UK tour.
Charismatic lead singer Ryan ‘Vann’ McCann has spoken about his excitement about the upcoming follow up album to their widely successful ‘The Balcony’ when speaking to NME:
“I think a little bomb will go off in the music industry and people will go ‘Who’s making all that racket?’” he said. “It’s miles better than the last album. The band’s 10 times better, the crew’s 10 times better and we’re all 10 times better looking.”
“I wanted to make a life-affirming record for normal heads – people who get up and just want to have a good day. They’ll put it on and think ‘Fuck, this feels mint.’ It’s proper arms-out music. I want to make you feel the way The Strokes did, but with the enormity of Oasis and the lyrics of The Streets.”

Catfish’s debut album ‘Balcony’ was released to worldwide success; bringing renewed hope in the UK market for a punk/indie rock revival. Heavy riffs combined with relatable lyrics, their sound echoes some of the UK’s biggest rock stars original releases, artists like Arctic Monkeys or Kaiser Chiefs. Having won the BBC Introducing Award for 2014 for their original album, we can certainly be excited for their second release; especially as the band themselves have regarded it as the better album.
