Catfish and the Bottlemen has announced UK tour dates; tickets now on sale for O2 Priority customers – general sale on 26/2.
Nominated for Best Breakthrough Act at this year’s Brit Awards, the Llandudno indie band will release their new album later this year. Their recently released single ‘Soundcheck’ is reverberant with scourging guitar and gruff vocals from frontman Van McCann.
In 2014 Catfish and the Bottlemen released their debut album Balcony taking time in preceding years to create. Album reviews often stated that their unique sound was lost over the years and was somewhat trapped in time. NME’s review stated:
“McCann and his band sound ham-fisted and about nine years too late.” Read more at: http://www.nme.com/reviews/various-artists/15657#bWMHcyU8cJu0l8iz.99
However, two years on they now have the chance with their new album to capture the current times and use their struggle over the last several years as an indie influence.
As far as a Brit Award? They have tough competition: James Bay, Wolf Alice, Years & Years, Jess Glynne. But April is their time to concentrate in the below dates:
Glasgow – O2 Academy 4/4
Southend – Cliffs 8/4
Doncaster – Dome 9/4
London – O2 Forum Kentish Town 11/4
Brighton – Dome 12/4
