Alternative newcomer Caro has announced the release of their debut album, ‘Burrows‘. The LP is set to drop on September 26 via indie label YALA!. “Figure Me Out” is also shared as the lead of the upcoming project.
After earning quite a recognition in the indie music scene, the three-piece from Leeds is finally ready to share the body of work. The record will comprise eleven tracks, including the latest cut “Figure Me Out“, which frontman Adam Pardey explains to Gigwise:
““Figure Me Out” is about being afraid of letting other people’s perceptions define you. It’s about only being able to make sense of your motivations retrospectively and trying to control how people see you by hiding from them.” Have a listen to the track below.
Caro is formed by three lads from Leeds since 2016, with their breakthrough track “Cold Comfort“. The trio’s style is similar to their Leeds fellow band alt-J by the heavy psychedelic guitar sound and the falsetto voice.
One of their most impressive tracks is 2017’s “Eyes on the Ground“. The song, according to the lead singer, is about the feeling of guilt due to indifference to injustice in the society:
“Eyes on the Ground” is “about the guilt associated with an indifference to social injustices that don’t directly affect you and how that indifference and lack of taking any action or even speaking out against it is basically a compliance with anyone who’s causing it in the first place.” What a perfect song for the current situation of the world at the moment.
Caro is on the rise to become a new indie sweetheart. Currently signed to an iconic indie record label, YALA!, a home to other indie heroes with the likes of The Magic Gang and Yak, the group has been recognised by leading music media such as Independent, Dork, and Gigwise (who named them “one of the most exciting bands in the UK” right now).
Stay tuned for the new album by Caro, which will be out on September 26, and give them support on their social media of your choice: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram.
