British metal band Bury Tomorrow have today announced that their seventh studio album will be dropping in March next year. Formed in 2006, The Southampton rockers will be hoping to follow up on the success of their 2020 album Cannibal and their 2018 album Black Flame which became their third consecutive UK Top 40 album. The new album will be released on March 31st 2023 via Music For Nations and is aptly titled The Seventh Sun. The release will be available on standard CD and LP alongside a limited and exclusive deluxe LP, deluxe CD, cassette and picture disc which contain bonus artwork and booklet material. The band are also offering fans exclusive album pre-order merchandise available, and a limited run of signed prints. To give fans a taste of what is to come they dropped their “furious” new single, ‘Abandon Us’ today (6th October). ‘Abandon Us’ has already been described by Rocksound as “an all-consuming, atmospheric piece of modern metalcore brilliance.”
“We are proud to present, The Seventh Sun.” the band said in a statement on their website, “It is an understatement to say we are excited to share the new era of Bury Tomorrow with you all and the first single from the album, Abandon Us, is the perfect way to showcase our intent for the next phase of our band. Visceral and heavy, this track is for each and every one of you that has stood by us either from the beginning, or supported us along the way.” The single has been released alongside a horror-inspired music video directed by Matt Sears. “Taken from a time of loss, uncertainty and insecurity, the intent was to create a heavy track that mirrored these feelings. The lyrics highlight the frustration and anger at the current state of our society and how our so-called leaders seem intent on satisfying self-interest above the collective needs of humanity.” they said, “the video was created in collaboration with director Matt Sears to provide a further commentary on these themes, in the guise of a horror-inspired short film.” You can listen to the new song and watch their video below.
Earlier this year the band announced they would be going on tour with American metalcore bands, August Burns Red and Miss May I.
