Welsh rock/metalcore outfit Bullet For My Valentine have confirmed that they will be releasing a deluxe edition of their 2021self-titled album and have also shared a new track entitled “Omen”. You can listen to the new track on streaming services, or at the YouTube link below. You can also pre-order the forthcoming deluxe record here.
The expanded edition of Bullet For My Valentine’s seventh full-length album will feature the original ten tracks with the addition of four new ones, and a B-side song entitled ‘Stitches” which was originally only available on the Japanese edition of the album. As for physical media, the album will see a release on CD, cassette, and four differently coloured vinyl variants.
Newly revealed tune “Omen” is a straightforward, relentless metalcore tune, featuring a high dosage of distorted twelfth-fret riffing and screamed vocals from vocalist Tuck. The song has been received warmly by fans thus far, as evidenced by the comments section of the lyric video above.
The record was originally released on July 8th, 2022, and received generally favourable reviews from critics, with Kerrang! awarding the album a 4/5 and saying: “…with the pummelling rhythms more than playing their parts and Matt Tuck never sounding better. This is Bullet firing on all cylinders and it sounds absolutely immense.”
Singer and guitarist Matt Tuck spoke to NME last year regarding the writing process of the album, stating: “The writing process for the new record was relentless. Having that creative flow is something you crave when writing a song, let alone writing an album and we couldn’t stop. The quality of the songwriting is phenomenal on this record, they’re brave, they’re fierce, they’re confident. Everything just fell into place. It feels like the start of something very special…they’re different and unique. I want them to see the light of day because they’re heavy, they’re interesting and they push boundaries.”
Recently, Bullet For My Valentine were announced as one of the acts performing at Bring Me the Horizon’s upcoming four day festival in Malta, which will take place from May 26th to May 30th, and will feature sets from other key players in the metalcore scene such as Motionless In White, Spiritbox and Beartooth, as well as alt-rockers PVRIS and London punk rockers Nova Twins. The festival will allegedly play host to club nights, pool parties and boat parties. You can read more about the forthcoming event here.
