Bruno Mars is to release his new single ’24K Magic’ (twenty-four karat magic) this Friday (7 October). He has spent the year working on his new album; his first since Unorthodox Jukebox in 2012. It is difficult to believe it has been four years since his last album and the huge single ‘Locked Out Of Heaven’. Similarly, it has been two years since he sang on Mark Ronson’s 2014 multi-award winning anthem ‘Uptown Funk’.
When Bruno Mars announced the single release, he said:
“You can call it my new single, but I call it the invitation to the party.”
Today Bruno Mars (real name Peter Gene Hernandez) announced: MY ALBUM IS DONE! via Twitter. No doubt a gigantic tour will support this to rival the Moonshine Jungle Tour which grossed over $156million.
Since 2011 Bruno Mars has been clocking up awards including the MTV Europe Music Award for Best Act (2011). Recently, ‘Uptown Funk’ was recognised with Grammy Award for Record of the Year (2016) and also Grammy Award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance (2016).
