Bring Me The Horizon added their milestone Live At The Royal Albert Hall 2016 release to all music streaming services today. Recorded live on 22 April 2016 at the iconic London venue during the touring cycle following the release of their fifth album That’s The Spirit (2015), it was later premiered on 2 December 2016 on CD, LP, DVD, Blu-Ray and digital download.
The show offered a night to remember with Bring Me The Horizon delivering a spectacular performance at the completely sold-out venue with support from PVRIS and accompanied by the Parallax Orchestra with conductor Simon Dobson. All proceedings went to the London-based charity Teenage Cancer Trust created in 1990 to support young people suffering from cancer. The concert featured a total of 15 tracks and became a pivotal moment in the Sheffield quintet’s career.
Live At The Royal Albert Hall 2016 is Bring Me The Horizon’s second live release following the Live In Wembley from the year before recorded at the end of 2014 at their headline show at Wembley Arena with support from Young Guns, Issues and Sleepwaves. Their Royal Albert Hall show followed the premiere of That’s The Spirit from 2015 which at the time earned them their highest ever chart performance peaking at #2 and selling over 400,000 copies in the UK alone since that.
The setlist covered almost their entire fifth album including ‘Doomed‘, ‘Happy Song‘, ‘Avalanche’, ‘Throne‘, ‘True Friends‘, ‘Follow You‘, ‘Drown‘ and ‘Oh No‘. Bring Me The Horizon’s seminal fourth record Sempiternal was also heavily featured with ‘Go To Hell, For Heaven’s Sake‘, ‘Sleepwalking‘, ‘Empire (Let Them Sing)‘, ‘Shadow Moses‘, ‘Can You Feel My Heart‘ and ‘Antivist‘. The only other song outside of this was ‘It Never Ends‘ taken from There Is A Hell Believe Me I’ve Seen It. There Is A Heaven Lets Keep It A Secret. from 2010.
Having previously been released on physical copies, the entire Live At The Royal Alber Hall recording is now finally available on all streaming platforms. Parts of the show are also available on YouTube, with the bellow video of the introduction and ‘Doomed‘ recognised as one of the highlights of the evening and almost reaching 25 million views.
Bring Me The Horizon are arguably at their absolute best form at the moment and enjoying the fuirts of their hard work. Following the commercial success of their previous chart-topping Amo (2019), the alternative metal/rock outfit took the world by storm in October this year with the release of their monumental EP Post Human: Survival Horror. Featuring eight killer tracks and stellar collaborations with Babymetal, Amy Lee, Nova Twins and Yungblud, the release peaked at #5 in Official UK Album Charts and received an overwhelmingly positive reception worldwide.
The leading singles ‘Parasite Eve‘, ‘Obey’ and ‘Teardrops‘ earned Bring Me The Horizon their first three consecutive Top 40 entries while ‘Kingslayer‘ and ‘1×1‘ came very close after that. Moreover, only last week the explosive team-up with Yungblud for ‘Obey‘ was selected as the Hottest Record Of The Year for Annie Mac’s ‘Future Sounds’ on BBC Radio 1. The single won after a public vote in tight competition with the likes of Rina Sawayama, IDLES, Arlo Parks, Headie One, SZA, and many others.
