Today the indie-pop project called Boy Pablo released their music video for the single Rest Up. The video was the third installment, or Chapter 3, of the group’s visual series promoting singles off the upcoming debut album Wachito Rico that will be released at the end of this week.
Chapter 1 of the visual series was the music video for their first single Hey Girl and the video for Honey was released shortly after as Chapter 2. Each video is an extension of the last, acting as the next story in the series, they are all narrated by Rick Kirkman of the infamous Netflix series ‘Tiger King’.
Ahead of Boy Pablo’s first debut album release this Friday, Chapters 4 and 5 will be released tomorrow, October 21st. This will complete the visual series and will likely feature the last single off the upcoming album Leave me Alone!.
The Chilean-Norwegian singer/songwriter who fronts the Boy Pablo group is otherwise known as Nicolas Munoz. Munoz first came into international popularity with his self released music video for the single Everywhere that became one of the most trending videos of 2017.
Boy Pablo was created as an indie-pop experiment written, recorded and produced by Munoz under the growing bedroom pop style. Munoz created the label 777 Records in an attempt to independently own the music for the dueling EP’s Roy Pablo (2017) and Soy Pablo (2018) that he released following his international rise.
Members of the touring act for the project Boy Pablo include Munoz himself as vocals, Gabriel Munoz as lead guitar, Henrik Amdal as bass guitar, Eric Tryland as keyboard and Sigmund Vesteheim on drums. The group includes Munoz’s brother who, along with Munoz’s father, contributed to the multi-instrumental and highly musically-inclined family that Munoz was raised in and attributes much of his success to.
Boy Pablo played their first world-tour in 2018 to sold-out arenas across the UK, America and Asia, playing songs from their dueling EPs. Recently the group announced a second headlining tour to promote their upcoming album Wachito Rico which is scheduled to kick off in the UK in the spring of 2021.
The upcoming album is highly-anticipated as it will be the project’s first full length album and will be the first accumulation of music that Boy Pablo has released since their multiple Norwegian Grammy wins. The most recent EP Soy Pablo received critical acclaim in 2018 and Wachito Rico is poised to do the same.
Chapter 1-3 for Boy Pablo’s visual series are available on YouTube today and Chapters 4-5 will be available tomorrow October 21st. The anticipated, Wachito Rico, album will then be available on all streaming platforms this Friday, October 23rd.
