Bookies have seen an influx of interest in Oasis reuniting for a tour in 2017. Betway have slashed odds to 5/4. In a statement Betway’s Alan Alger said:
“The betting suggests that 2017 is the most likely year for Oasis to get back together at 5/4.
Alger continued, “With the band’s biopic set to be released next month, some might say that our offer of 3/1 for Oasis to reform by the end of this year is good value. “
Guitarist Bonehead is keen for a reunion to happen, stating:
“There’s never a day goes by when I’m not asked by someone about a reunion. But nothing has been said to me about that. If I was asked? Then absolutely, like a shot.”
Still in regular touch with frontman Liam Gallagher, Bonehead and Liam will be reuniting this Sunday for Supersonic, the Oasis documentary. See our article here for a detailed account on the anticipated documentary which hits cinemas on 2 October. Two years ago they both attended the Chasing the Sun exhibition which gives fans their chance to recreate the iconic Definitely Maybe album cover in a recreation of Bonehead’s living room in West Didsbury, Manchester.
Despite the heavily slashed odds, Liam Gallagher insists there will be no Oasis reunion via comments on Twitter:
“Listen up no Oasis reunion Rkids not into it and I am hes too busy being beige new sounds on there way stay cool and most of all relevant LG x.”
Liam Gallagher has been writing his own material for a solo career and a new album release. So the question fans are left with: do we go with the slashed odds or trust Liam Gallagher’s statement and his history of feuds with his brother, Noel. In any case, their documentary Supersonic will give fans something to be nostalgic with.
