Blossoms have announced a massive new UK tour, which is set to begin in Glasgow This December.
The indie-pop group confirmed they will be taking to the road later this year in a string of UK shows, kicking off their nine-date tour in Glasgow on the 3rd of December 2018, before visiting Sheffield, Nottingham, Birmingham, Manchester, Southampton, Bristol, and concluding in London, on the 13th of December 2018. Tickets can be purchased here.
The band is heading back out on tour to support their latest album ‘Cool Like You’. Originating from Stockport, the band released their second album, ‘Cool Like You’ on the 27th of April 2018. The album peaked at number four on the UK Albums Chart, and at number 1 on the Official Vinyl Albums Chart.
In a four-star review, NME wrote: “Like an early greatest hits, ‘Cool Like You’ is overflowing with singles. Whether or not that could be a festival headline show falls down to fate and fashion, but with their second album Blossoms have certainly had a damn good crack.”
The band will be supported by Sam Fender, in Glasgow and London only, and Fuzzy Sun, who will be with the band throughout their nine-date tour.
In a statement, the band said: “Did you know that the karaoke machine was invented in our home town of Stockport in 1975? The Japanese bought the idea and gave it the name. In honour of this bit of genuinely juicy hometown trivia, this tour will be, in the main, a massive sing-a-long. Generally, memory making magic. See you there.”
The five-piece band, made up of members Tom Ogden, Charlie Salt, Josh Dewhurst, Joe Donovan, and Myles Kellock, formed in 2013 in Stockport.
The group hit the scene after the making of the BBC’s Sound of Music list for 2016, finishing in fourth place. They released their self-titled debut album in 2016, which was embraced and nominated for the Mercury Music Prize in 2017. Their hits include ‘Charlemagne’, ‘There’s A Reason Why’ and ‘Getaway’.
