Albums by artists including Billie Eilish, Queen and Lewis Capaldi are among the highest selling on vinyl this year, according to data accumulated by the Official Charts Company. The highest ranking of them all is Queen’s Greatest Hits, amassing a total of 15,700 copies.
The sales have rocketed since the release of the Bryan Singer biopic, Bohemian Rhapsody, which was released back in October 2018, with the soundtrack to the film taking tenth place on the list.
American singer Billie Eilish’s debut effort, the acclaimed ‘When We Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?’, was ranked second in the list. She was followed by Joy Division with ‘Unknown Pleasures’, Fleetwood Mac’s 1977 album, ‘Rumours’, and Lewis Capaldi’s ‘Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent’ taking the third, fourth and fifth spots respectively.
