2020 is shaping up to be a big, busy year for Adam Lambert. It has been reported that the American singer will headline this year’s Manchester Pride, along with playing a massive solo gig at The SSE Arena, Wembly this September. Lambert will also drop his highly anticipated fourth studio album VELVET on March 20.
The 38-year-old singer gained popularity from the popular American singing competition, American Idol Season 8, in which he won the second place. He then has released three albums so far, with hit singles like “Whataya Want from Me“, “Never Close Our Eyes“, and “Ghost Town“.
Lambert’s fame has extremely thrived when, in 2011, he was selected to be the lead singer for legendary Queen on their tours. The collaboration has been a great success for both the band, as they get to go on tour around the globe with a vocalist, and Lambert who is honoured to sing for the late Freddy Mercury. Queen +Adam Lambert has been a remarkable success that spawns Lambert with more recognition in the music scene.
On March 20, Lambert will release the fourth record titled VELVET. The album comes after a five-year gap from 2015’s The Original High. VELVET was initially teased as an EP named VELVET: Side A, which contains six tracks that will be included in the complete 13-song tracklist.
“Roses” is served as the first single off the album. The song is a funky track that features rhythm guitar by Chic’s Nile Rodgers, which can be listened from the clip below.

In support of VELVET, Lambert will go on the road with two massive events in the UK. The first event is Manchester Pride which will take place from August 28 to 30. The “For Your Entertainment” singer is announced as the first musical headline this year, following Ariana Grande who was the leading headliner last year.
About this year’s Pride, the singer said, “I am so excited to perform at Manchester Pride for the very first time! Something I have always wanted to do! I keep hearing that LGBTQ + representation is on fire over there and I can’t wait to be part of it and see you soon!”
The gay icon will further the promotion for the forthcoming album by bring ‘VELVET: THE TOUR’ to the capital on September 1. The gig will be played at The SSE Arena, Wembly, for which the pre-sale will be up on February 11 and the general sale on February 14 here.
Prior to his solo headline, Lambert will join Queen for the 16-day residency at The O2 for ‘The Rhapsody Tour 2020′, starting from June 2 and finishing on June 21. The tickets are available here.
Outside the music scene, Lambert recently founded The Feel Something Foundation, a non-profit organisation in support of LGBTQ+ human rights. See the post about the foundation below, and visit the official site for more information.
