Bastille’s second album has been heavily rumoured for a while now, what with the band performing brand new songs at gigs recently. See our article on this here.
The video announcing details regarding their new album was also posted on Youtube:
Back in February lead singer Dan Smith discussed the prospects of their second album, revealing that one was certainly in the works:
“I’ve heard lots of bands talking about making their ‘difficult’ second album, but we never thought that far ahead. I guess, until recently, we haven’t had much time to think about it,” Dan Smith said in the video.
“We’ve been so lucky to be touring constantly over the past few years, and it’s been a lot of fun,” he continued. “But it’s meant that we’ve massively had to adapt the way that we make music. This new album has been written and recorded on tour buses, in backstage rooms and hotels all over the place. The process of writing and making the songs hasn’t changed much, it’s just that this time around, we’re doing way less of it in my bedroom.”
Bastille of course first emerged on the UK music scene back in 2013 with their debut album ‘Bad Blood’. ‘Bad Blood’ was the start of a great year for Bastille, which culminated with them being nominated for four Brit Awards, ultimately winning ‘Best British Breakthrough Act’.
It’s been a long three years without any new material from Bastille, so hopefully with their album being announced we can expect some official singles soon!
