UK born musician Bartees Strange made his late night debut last night on Late Night With Seth Meyers, performing his new single Boomer. The tracks comes off the artist’s latest album Live Forever. Available to view on YouTube, can be seen below.
Bartees Strange is based in Washington D.C. and his newest record is fittingly political. The album Live Forever was released in October, 2020 before the American presidential election. It was the artist’s break-out debut album, and has so far received critical acclaim internationally.
While this was Bartees Strange’s first full-length debut album, he has previously released the EP Say Goodbye To Pretty Boy, which was also released in 2020. His music has skyrocketed, landing him a spot on late night TV in large part due to it’s message.
While Strange is new in his career, Seth Meyers said last night on his show that the record was “one of his favorite records of 2020″. Strange has yet to play a headlining tour, however he has featured on other artists’ records.
Strange featured on the track Its Gold on Project Diem’s album Gold. He then later featured on Dave Hause’s album Patty for the song Top of the World.
Bartees Strange has yet to schedule any concerts or events in 2021. He did not play a significant amount of gigs or concerts in the year 2020 likely due to safety concerns surrounding the global health crisis Covid-19.
Bartees Strange’s unique genre blending, from hiphop to jazz he has created an album Live Forever that has a sound of its own. His success can be greatly attributed to this talent, and his spotlight on Late Night With Seth Meyers last night is the highlight of his career so far.
