American singer/songwriter BANKS has dropped live renditions of tracks from her latest full-length ‘III‘, including “Stroke”, “Contaminated”, and “If We Were Made of Water”, and her smash hit “Drowning”. These four tracks are compiled into a live EP simply titled ‘Live and Stripped‘, which is available now (via Harvest Records).
“I think people are most beautiful in their rawest form, and sometimes same goes for music,” said the singer. She also shared that she was “so happy” to let her fans get to know her more from the live version of her songs. See the EP cover from the post below.
In addition to the new EP, the “Goddess” singer also premiered videos of the live renditions on YouTube. The live videos are part of Capitol Records’ series called ‘1 Mic 1 Take‘ in which their artists come to perform their popular singles in a stripped-down take at Studio A in Hollywood, CA. See the video of BANKS’ performances below.
Last year, the alternative R&B songstress released the third studio album, ‘III‘. The record has become her most critically-acclaimed so far, spawning singles like “Gimme” and Francis and the Lights-assisted “Look What You’re Doing to Me“. BJ Burton was listed as the executive producer of the album; his recent work is a collaboration with Charli XCX’s “forever”. She also embarked on the UK tour in support of ‘III‘ in November 2019, and one of the shows at Roundhouse, London was also sold out.
According to the singer’s Instagram post, BANKS seems to be working on a follow-up of ‘III‘ like many artists who practice social-distancing are currently doing. ‘Live and Stripped‘ is now available for purchase and streaming.
