Avenged Sevenfold are presently in the middle of their tour of USA festivals. Formed in 1999, the heavy metal band from Huntingdon Beach, California are in the process of producing their seventh studio album, their first since Hail to the King back in 2013.
Since 2006, Avenged Sevenfold (or A7X as they are also known) have been nominated for, and have received many awards including winning Best International Band in the 2014 Golden God Awards.
Influenced by the likes of Guns N Roses, Megadeth, Metallica, Black Sabbath, and The Rolling Stones – to name just a few – some critics have said they are not metal enough. In response, vocalist M Shadows said:
“we play music for the sake of music, not so that we can be labeled a metal band. That’s like telling us we aren’t punk enough. Who cares?”
UK fans will get to decide for themselves in January as A7X embark on their arena tour, showing off their unique wave of heavy metal. Watch ‘Hail to the King’ below.
