British metal-core band Asking Alexandria have been working to maintain their band’s credibility in the year following the departure of lead vocalist Danny Worsnop, who left in January 2015 to focus on his other band We Are Harlot – and in the aftermath, doubt was cast among fans as to whether the band would continue producing music to their previous standard, or whether they would even continue producing music at all.
However, if the four singles released since Worsnop’s exit, extensive touring worldwide and an upcoming album due at the end of this month weren’t enough to cement the band’s longevity, UK fans are sure to have been reassured today when it was announced that Asking Alexandria will be playing two “intimate” headline UK shows preceding their debut appearance at Reading & Leeds Festival this August. See their UK dates for this year so far below:
15/08/2016 – Southampton, UK – Engine Rooms
16/08/2016 – London, UK – Koko
26/08/2016 – Reading, UK – Reading & Leeds Festival, The Pit Stage
27/08/2016 – Leeds, UK – Reading & Leeds Festival, The Pit Stage
Denis Stoff was revealed to be Asking Alexandria’s new vocalist and consequently Stoff featured in the four singles released in the past year, however upcoming album The Black will be his first appearance on an Asking Alexandria album, meaning he has a lot to prove to any fans that are still dubious. Asking Alexandria’s most recent offering Let It Sleep was released alongside a music video last week – watch it here and decide for yourself whether Stoff’s vocals are a fitting addition to the band.
Asking Alexandria’s fourth studio album The Black is due for release on March 25th. Tickets for the new UK dates go on sale Friday 18th March at 9am.
