UK melodic hardcore outfit As Everything Unfolds released the explosive new single ‘Wallow‘ off their upcoming debut album Within Each Lies The Other expected on 26 March this year through Long Branch Records. Hailing from the metal-infused lands of Buckinghamshire, the band spent the second half of last year gaining momentum and promoting their hugely anticipated new record.
With the three powerful singles ‘Hiding From Myself‘, ‘Take Me There‘ and ‘Stranger In The Mirror‘ already out and building the hype, it is their latest ‘Wallow‘ that really sets them apart from the crowd with its angry riffs, subtle synths and intense vocals, and promises one of the most exciting heavy debuts in recent years.

‘Wallow‘ is a restless contemporary metal banger, jumping with ease from raging verses to emotional choruses, and keeping the structure fresh and exciting before culminating in a huge atmospheric outro. Loudwire rightfuly describes the single as a “riff bonanza, never settling into any part for very long, which gives As Everything Unfolds a feral edge, especially as they sway from beat-based elements to propulsive aggression, tempered by a synth-drenched chorus and pained yet hopeful clean vocals“.
The track and the entire debut record is produced, recorded and mixed by Oz Craggs at Hidden Track Studios, with mastering by Nick Burchall at Audio Animals. The album and single artworks are designed by Abby Coulson, with additional illustrations by Natasha Gallagher. The lyric video for ‘Wallow‘ is created by Zak Taylor Media.
As quoted in the article below, charismatic singer Charlie Rolfe discussed As Everything Unfolds’ passionate latest release: “Anger and sadness really drove this track lyrically, and there’s a lot of frustration that’s presented through the use of primarily harsh vocals. It’s a song about betrayal, liars, and anyone who has ever done anything to you to make you deliberately feel worthless. There’s a lot of energy that was released through this song, and we invite you to do the same.”
As Everything Unfolds have previously released one EP Closure from 2018 and having toured with the likes of Dream State and Our Hollow Our Home sucessfully got the attention of the German label Long Branch Records who signed the band last year to the “home for today’s best in new and established Alternative, Metal and Rock groundbreakers“. Their full lenght debut Within Each Lies The Other is ready for launch on 26 March, with the six-piece’s official Bandcamp account sharing more details:
“This album represents the very best and worst of ourselves. Our sadness, our vengeance but in balance also our happiness and self discovery. We cannot always be the best version of ourselves, we must travel through the pain and anguish to develop our best self, a you that has learned. This album focuses on the concept that which is above, also is the same of what is below, balance the pain and happiness, centre yourself and learn from it.”
Within Each Lies The Other is available to pre-order and pre-save here, with various merch bundles on offer on the band’s website and Bandcamp. With all four released singles showcasing infectious energy, passionate determination and undoubtful potential, there is no surprise even The Guardian recently named As Everything Unfolds as one of the 30 Artists to watch in 2021.
