Today, Arlo Parks has followed up October’s ‘Green Eyes’ with a new release, titled ‘Caroline’. The song premiered on Annie Mac’s Radio 1 show and Parks made an appearance to discuss her process, as well as her upcoming debut album ‘Collapsed In Sunbeams’.
Caroline is out now on all platforms!! Tell me what you think, if it moved you, what it means to you – so grateful to be able to be putting art in the world during what I know is a tough winter – rooting for and appreciating you guys always. https://t.co/RZwNG9n6oV pic.twitter.com/pQJO2W2Z6o

The mellow song allows Parks’ lyrics to stand out, intricate and meaningful as always, as she sings, “I couldn’t recognise her face/Shards of glass live in this feeling/Have to somehow stop her leaving.”
The singer wrote the song during lockdown, inspired by watching people out on the street and influenced by Radiohead. She commented, “I was just really interested in the idea of watching a relationship dissolve, removed from the context of being in it.”
Along with the single, Parks created a lyric video featuring her performing the song. It’s been steadily receiving views since it premiered at 6pm this evening.
‘Caroline’ is the fifth single to be shared from ‘Collapsed In Sunbeams’, a twelve-track release, and the first full-length LP from Parks. So far, ‘Black Dog’, ‘Hurt’, ‘Eugene’ and ‘Green Eyes’ have been released, with more to come. The album is due for release on 29th January 2021.
