London-based singer and songwriter Arlo Parks have officially partnered with Polaroid as part of their Go create project, which promotes the launch of their newest camera ‘Polaroid Go’ – the smallest analogue instant camera. They have collaborated with a diverse range of creators and Arlo Parks is one of the first one to be announced in this series. Other creative partners will be announced in the coming months.
The 20-year-old singer took photos with her Polaroid Go camera and wrote a poem in inspiration as part of the campaign. The poem can be read in full here.
I remember taking Polaroid photos at parties, on forest walks, at dinners- when I was in love or just simply happy. Being part of this @Polaroid Go project helped me appreciate beauty in fragments. In an interview with Polaroid, the singer and poet explained what excites her the most about the Go create project: “It allows me to open myself up to fans, to people who may not know who I am, but may have an interest in what it’s like to be a musician, to be a poet, working in London. And I think also, it’s just fun you know. I think there’s something fun about exploring the creative process and leaving these little kind of artifacts of how I make things and what I’m all about.”
Arlo Parks has released one debut album ‘Collapsed in Sunbeams’ and two EPs ‘Super Sad Generation’ and ‘Sophie’. Her album was nominated for the Album of the Year at the BRIT Awards 2021. She was also nominated for Best British Female Solo Artist and won Best New Artist.
The Polaroid Go Instant Camera can be purchased here, retailing at £109.99.
