Another Sky have just announced the release date for their brand new debut album, ‘I Slept On The Floor’. The small indie band from London took to social media to share the news, along with a few other exciting snippets of information for fans to look forward to.

The album is set to release on the 7th August and is available to pre-order now via music download platforms such as iTunes, Spotify pre-save and Apple Music pre-add. Fans are also able to pre-order vinyl copies of the album, though there is only a limited number available so they should ensure to get in quick.

First forming in 2017, Another Sky have released two EP’s.‘Forget Yourself’ was released in 2018 and their second EP, ‘Life Was Coming In Through The Blinds’ in 2019. Now entering their third year of music making with full force, the band have decided to treat fans with a full album consisting of 12 tracks.

In an interview with NME, lead singer of the band, Catrin Vincent, opens up about one of the songs on the album, also being their latest single. ‘Fell In Love With The City’ is the second track featured on the album and was also the second song written by the band. Vincent explains how it captures their feelings of leaping into a huge change of lifestyle. She says, “Moving to London was a dramatic shift from small-town life where it didn’t even occur to me I could do music, where this vision of me as a housewife who never amounted to anything felt inescapable, in to a bigger world, of people from all over, of new ideas and a new version of myself.” Watch the full music video here.

Another track on the album may also be recognised by FIFA fans as the song ‘The Cracks’ features on FIFA 20. It proves to be one of their most popular songs with almost 300K views on YouTube.

Not only have the band announced their debut album, but they are also set to be going on tour in November. In an excited tweet about the new album and single, the band also urge fans to buy tickets to their headline show at Hackney’s EartH venue.
